Glenn and Winifred Skillrud are donating up to $175,000 to the University of Wisconsin Foundation for two scholarship to cover the costs of students majoring in piano and voice â?? if they are satisfied with how those funds are used during the next four years, they will endow the program, according to an article in the Badger Herald.
The scholarships will cover the costs of classes, food, books, and concert dress, the newspaper said. The donors want to help â??ensure more classical singers receive training instead of the America Idol-style popular today.â?
