UW fires worker convicted of embezzlement (AP)

MADISON – University of Wisconsin-Madison has fired a financial specialist who was convicted of embezzling last year from a previous employer, a university spokesman said Thursday.

UW-Madison terminated Jennifer Joas, a financial specialist in the department of agronomy, on March 10, days after the Associated Press reported she was convicted of embezzling more than $30,000 while an accountant for the Carrington Group.
