UW is cutting campus ash trees

The emerald ash borer, a half-inch long, metallic green beetle native to Asia, could potentially put more than 550 ash trees on the developed parts of the UW-Madison campus – plus more in the adjacent Lakeshore Nature Preserve – on a hit list for removal in an attempt to forestall the beetle’s spread.
