UW ranked as No. 1 party school

Despite nearly a decade of trying to reduce student drinking, UW-Madison has emerged as the No. 1 party school in the country, according to The Princeton Review’s annual ranking of top colleges.

But Susan Crowley, who leads a UW-Madison effort to change the campus drinking climate, said she is not surprised by the dubious distinction. Nor is she discouraged by the “modest” gains of the PACE (Policy, Alternatives, Community and Education) project, which is going into its 10th and final year of funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
