Casey Nagy, executive assistant to UW Chancellor John Wiley, and UW Band Director Mike Leckrone showed a united front when they faced the media to release information about what happened on the band trip that prompted John Wiley to put the band on probation and threaten a “wholesale change in leadership” if there are any other code violations. Nagy said hazing and harassment has been a recurring problem within in the band in recent years. Leckrone called the latest conduct “markedly different” than in the the past.
