UW-Madison researcher accused of poisoning colleague pleads not guilty

A University of Wisconsin-Madison researcher accused of poisoning his colleague in the lab pleaded not guilty to the charges in court.

Makoto Kuroda, 42, appeared Aug. 6 in Dane County Circuit Court for his arraignment. He was charged in April with second-degree recklessly endangering safety and tampering with products to cause harm. If convicted, he could face a maximum 16 years sentence and a maximum fine of $35,000.
