Enrollment appeared to decline across the Universities of Wisconsin for the first time since 2021, preliminary enrollment estimates show, with that decline driven largely by a drop in the number of international students. Overall enrollment remains relatively steady.
About 163,260 students enrolled in one of the 13 state universities, down 1,732 from 2025, according to university estimates. Of those, 1,100 were international students.
