At the UW Arboretum, Melanie Tallmadge Sainz and Lightning the Earth New Rider created “Hazac Mąą,” which translates to Earth Shelter. The three-dimensional sculpture uses a frame of foraged saplings covered with bark and hand-made cattail mats.
