I had been a rabid UW Badgers football fan since the 1963 Rose Bowl. Our quarterback was Ron Vander Kelen, and our star receiver was Pat Richter (a Madison East High School graduate). The Badgers were trailing the University of Southern California Trojans 42-14 at the start of the fourth quarter, and the Badgers closed to 42-37 when they ran out of time. What a game.
