Local students planning to walk out of class for Monday rally to protest Tony Robinson shooting

Brandi Grayson, a leader of the Young, Gifted and Black Coalition, told Madison.com about 300 to 400 UW-Madison students are planning to march from campus to the Capitol, and students from all of Madison’s public high schools and Sun Prairie High School are also invited to come down to the Capitol to join in the protest.

One could say Miss Oshkosh 2015 MeKenzie Lund knows more than just a little about pageants.In fact, pageants have been a part of her entire adult life. The 21-year-old, who graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 2012 and now attends the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has competed in seven pageants during the past four years, and that experience finally paid off as she took home her first crown.

UW-Madison hands over sexual assault files from last three years as part of federal investigation

The investigations are being handled by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights. Federal investigators have asked UW-Madison for all of their files regarding sexual assault cases and policies from 2012 to 2014. Investigators are trying to get a better sense of how the university handles sexual violence cases on campus.

The year before, just one black student received an elementary education degree. Consequently, according to 2014 data, less than 5% of Wisconsins teachers are non-white.
