‘A real life miracle’: Wisconsin baby born at 12.5 ounces graduates NICU after 375 days in hospital

“She is the smallest surviving baby by weight at 355 grams to graduate from our NICU. She makes history,” Dr. Claudette Onyelobi said.

Dr. Onyelobi, who is affectionately known as “Dr. O,” is UW Health Kids Neonatologist and associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Onyelobi is also the Director of Small Baby Care at American Family Children’s Hospital and UnityPoint Health-Meriter.
