They lost one fight against a solar farm. Now this Dane County town is hoping to stop another

TOWN OF CHRISTIANA — Residents of this small farming community in eastern Dane County spent years fighting what was then Wisconsin’s largest solar farm.

They lost that fight, and now, the same developer is looking to add onto that project.

Chicago-based Invenergy, the nation’s largest private energy developer, filed initial paperwork with the Wisconsin Public Service Commission in June for a second solar farm that will sit on roughly 770 acres, about half the size of the first facility, in Christiana, a town of 1,235 about 20 miles east of Madison.
