Trump administration nixes UW-Madison pediatric healthcare research it had touted

UW-Madison’s research on artificial intelligence to improve the experience for children and their families was “the poster child” in a federal Health and Human Services presentation on innovations in pediatric care, Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Madison, said.

A month later, its federal funding evaporated, as the department rescinded the grant for being “inconsistent with agency priorities,” a catch-all phrase often used in President Donald Trump’s second term to terminate funding the government had already approved.
